Breaking Ground on the Roberts Little School
About
Savannah Country Day School celebrated a significant milestone as members of the school community gathered to break ground on the future home of The Roberts Little School.
The ceremony marked the next chapter in a story that began more than 20 years ago. First conceived in 2005 by longtime faculty member Sharon Eswine as a preschool to serve the children of current and prospective faculty. Originally opening with 21 children in a modular facility, the school has grown steadily over time and now serves 145 children, with a waiting list that reflects both its importance to Savannah families and the program’s enduring strength.
The 17,000-square-foot Roberts Little School will house 16 classrooms, an art studio, a multi-purpose room, a STEAM porch, and multiple expansive playgrounds, all thoughtfully designed to provide an enhanced and vibrant learning environment for the school’s youngest Hornets.
